Types Of Pianos
Grand Piano
The grand piano is probably the most well-known type of piano. It is a large, horizontal piano, with the strings and soundboard extending away from the keyboard towards the back. The strings are struck by hammers that are thrown upwards when the keys are pressed. Its size allows for a rich, resonant sound, and its action (the mechanism of the keys) provides excellent control for the player.
Baby Grand Piano
This is a smaller version of the grand piano, designed to fit into smaller spaces while retaining much of the grand piano’s sound quality and aesthetic appeal.
Spinet Piano
This is an even larger upright piano, often found in music studios and schools. It offers a good sound quality and is more durable than smaller upright pianos.
Console Piano
Studio Piano
This is an even larger upright piano, often found in music studios and schools. It offers a good sound quality and is more durable than smaller upright pianos.
Player Piano
Digital Piano
Concert Grand Piano
This is the largest type of piano, specifically designed for use in concert halls due to its powerful, resonant sound. It can be over 9 feet long.
These pianos are done only by Don Pinard Piano Moving Specialist. known as a vertical piano, the upright piano has strings and soundboard running vertically, perpendicular to the keyboard.
This allows it to take up less space than a grand piano, making it suitable for homes and smaller venues. The upright piano’s action is situated below the strings, and gravity pulls the hammers back down after they have struck.
